I was born in Hue, Vietnam and grew up in the Bay area of Northern California. I matriculated my Bachelor of Science degree in Managerial Economics with minors in Psychology and Art then later received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco.
I decided to specialize in Periodontics of the University of Florida. This residency program has had the long-standing reputation of producing high quality surgeons with an excellent background in academics and research.
My education and training has provided me with experience in treating periodontal disease, muco-gingival defects, perio/prosthetic interrelationships, treatment planning and the placement of dental implants.
I have received training in many systems including: 3I®, Branemark®, Steri-oss®, Calcitek®, Ha-Ti®, and Frialit II®. I have attended seminars at the L.D. Pankey Institute in Miami, FL, which incorporates similar perio/prosthetic philosophies advocated by the Spear and Kois prosthetic series.
I have given lectures worldwide as well as taught hands-on courses to other clinicians and surgeons on dental implants and advanced surgical procedures.
I have published many articles in The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants, The Periodontology 2000 Journal, The Journal of Periodontology, The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, The Journal of Orofacial Pain, The Implant Dentistry Journal, and many other Professional Medical/Dental Journals.
If you have any questions on periodontal disease, dental implants, or dentistry in general, feel free to call me at the office during business hours or email me at maidental@yahoo.com. I will be glad to help you.
